Celebrating the End of Renovations

 A few weeks ago we celebrated the end of the main building work by having a "thank you to everyone who has supported us" party.

Here is a photo of some of our friends relaxing on the verandah --one of the few evenings this summer that was lovely and sunny.

We also had a visit from this gorgeous creature who had come to wish us luck in our new venture.
This is a wood wasp and looks rather scary but is in fact harmless and quite  magnificent. It is about 1-2 " long .

Here is a photo from the river in full spate, showing the new bedroom to the right with solar panels being installed.

Original Cottage

This is an original photo of Roeburnscar circa 1940's. It was built by Mr. Kaye as an example of green wood building after the war. It has stood the test of time. The beech floor in the original sitting room is still as good as new.
