Primeval

The geese have moved down the river from the meadows up stream and would not let me take a photo of them . With the giant sequoia --the ancientist of trees-- that Rod's father planted in the 1950's and the flooded pond the scene just looks like something that hasn't changed in millions of years

New Doors

Our lovely new doors are being made by Nick Andrews- a master woodsman.

The first three are from elm  which produces a beautiful pattern reminiscent of wave and water flows.

The Traddock

The Traddock at Austwick just into Yorkshire has just won the hotel of the year award-
well worth a visit  and only a short distance from Wray. The hotel has an excellent
environmentally friendly ethos and promotes sustainable principles in it's use of energy
efficiency eg: a wood pellet bio mass heating system, recycling of plastic etc.,fresh water
served in glass bottles not plastic , sourcing local food --to name just a few .

Deer

This cheeky deer knows it's in friendly territory...you are almost always going to see deer in our woods if you are a quiet walker.

Zanzibar Kangas

The red kanga in the flat sitting room says: "You don't have love then you forget what life has done for you"

The blue kanga in the flat bedroom says : " Be grateful for opportunity but don't feel sorry it's not there"
