R.I.P Tree Felling

Our lovely trees will have to be removed. Rod's father planted them in the 50's and they have been a beautiful backdrop to the cottage as well as providing lovely foliage for Christmas. The trees are Douglas Fir, Western Hemlock, Silver Fir, Red Cedar and a few unidentified conifers. We will miss their wonderful scent, beauty and sound. With the effects of climate change, the winds that we now get are ferocious and the pines are beginning to lean alarmingly towards the house. This is a new phenomenon. Unfortunately it's too much of a risk keeping them. We will use their lovely timber in all sorts of ways and plant an orchard with other native trees.
